GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • You’re in charge of the largest ASSET at Headwater Wholesale – Inventory!
  • Responsible for the accountability, accuracy, and transaction issue resolution for ~$20M in inventory at 18+ branch locations
  • Owns the General Ledger for Inventory
  • Responsible for Internal/External Audit reporting & questions
  • Tasked with training branch employees to reduce transactional issues/problems that flow through IC
  • One direct report, who handles Customer Warranty Product Returns and/or Vendor dispute resolutions (pricing/receiving disputes) to collect monies owed the company

  • Must have the desire and initiative to have a full understanding of how the entire chain of inventory flow impacts the business across ALL functional departments
  • (Training will be provided; however strong self-teacher is also required for long term success)
  • Strong computer skills including intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required
  • Prior experience, accounting, finance type background a plus

Strategic Goals of this position:

  • Train and develop the branch teams with the aspiration of making perfect sales/inventory transactions each time
  • Maximize our return on inventory investment by reducing inventory losses and “Bad Inventory” (Excess & Obsolete) that negatively impacts the P&L
  • Drive excellence in inventory deployment in the Customer On-Site Inventory (Consignment)
  • Inventory turns and accuracy management
  • Working with the President, Regional Managers, and Purchasing on continuous improvement around inventory deployment and appropriate reporting/planning

Daily/Monthly Tasks:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve employee transactional issues
  • Branch Daily Cycle Counts with long term goal to remove the need for full annual physical count
  • Correct/manage inventory out of balance issues
  • Correct/manage orders that did not invoice correctly; direct orders or from stock
  • Review orders that are potentially hung up in the system
  • Adjust/Write off inventory and communicates to those P&L owners of the impact
  • Ensure that your direct report’s Customer Warranty/Vendor credits are current
  • Signals theft risks or suspicions
  • Limited travel to build relationships and train as appropriate/needed
  • Continuous Improvement – Work on bottom 3 branches in areas to improve results
  • Other projects as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
