ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is a hybrid position, required to work inside the warehouse and deliver product to customers when required. Time is expected to be split evenly between the two responsibilities, outlined in detail below.
- Prepare all shipments including pulling stock and preparation of invoices
- Receive all incoming shipments; including inspecting for damages and auditing for accuracy
- Put stock away in proper location after it has been received in the ERP system
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
- Assist with the maintenance of inventory control and cycle counts
- Load and unload trucks and/or trailers. Properly secure loads in accordance with state/federal regulation and common safety practices
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
- Submit receipts and money received from deliveries
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Maintains company gas card, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance; also, responsible for ensuring Driver License and Medical Certificate are current and on person at all times while driving a company vehicle
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to create routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Must have and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Must have or obtain a chauffeur's license
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
