Job Summary:

The Turbine Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pump shop, with a focus on quoting all products including complete line shaft turbines, submersible turbines, short set turbines, centrifugal pumps and the inspection, repair, overhaul, of same. This role manages shop personnel, ensures work is completed on schedule and to quality standards, maintains inventory and tooling, and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all shop activities related to turbine pump assembly, disassembly, inspection, and repair.
  • Preform all inside sales functions, creating all necessary documentation and customer communication.
  • Supervise and schedule shop technicians, machinists, and support staff.
  • Ensure repairs and rebuilds meet OEM specifications and industry quality standards.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing jobs, including customer communication and job documentation.
  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of shop equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, company policies, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and manage parts inventory, tooling, and material procurement to avoid delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, job costs, and inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering, field service teams, and sales to ensure customer satisfaction and job accuracy.
  • Develop and train employees in technical procedures, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and enforce shop standards for cleanliness, efficiency, and quality.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in pump repair or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of turbine pump construction, operation, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with machine shop operations (e.g., lathes, mills, balancing equipment).
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and pump specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP or job-tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with vertical turbine, centrifugal, and submersible pumps.
  • Knowledge of balancing, alignment, and hydraulic testing procedures.
  • OSHA training and safety management experience.
  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001 or similar.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
