Position Overview:

We are seeking a Territory Sales Representative (TSR) for our Flint, Michigan territory to drive growth in wastewater and onsite treatment products. This role combines technical acumen, field sales, and customer education. The TSR partners closely with contractors, engineers, and branch staff to build demand for key product lines, pumps, treatment systems, controls, chambers, and accessories, while ensuring best-in-class service and territory development.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and manage a contractor and installer network across Livingston County and surrounding key territories.

  • Develop and execute a 90-day and 12-month territory plan focused on awareness, conversion, and growth.
  • Work with vendors/co-workers to conduct ride-alongs, jobsite visits, and branch trainings to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.
  • Promote wastewater products, including septic components, pump systems, and advanced treatment technologies.
  • Provide takeoff assistance, product recommendations, and system troubleshooting support.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes in coordination with branch and inside sales teams.
  • Support trade shows, installer days, and industry events to strengthen brand presence.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and follow-up tasks.
  • Track and analyze territory performance against goals and margin targets.
  • Uphold Valley/Milan’s reputation for integrity, responsiveness, and customer partnership.
  • Pay is based on experience and will be determined during the interview process.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of field sales or contractor-facing experience (distribution, OEM, or trade services).
  • Working familiarity with wastewater, plumbing, or pump systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a regional territory.
  • Proficient in CRM, quoting, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regionally (up to 30%).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in onsite wastewater, plumbing, or environmental systems.
  • Exposure to control panels, aerobic treatment units, or wastewater treatment products.
  • Experience coordinating vendor trainings or trade show events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
